Karen Andersen is certified as a Canine Training and Behavior Specialist. Karen received her education at Triple Crown Academy for Professional Dog Trainers in Hutto, TX. Karen also brings years of experience working with dogs in areas such as grooming, pet sitting and was of course a long time employee here at Camp Wagging Tails. She is a certified Pet Saver through Pet Tech Inc. Karen has trained dogs in Obedience, Agility, Search and Rescue, Scent Detection, and Tracking. Karen lives in Huntersville with her dogs Max and Rachel.

Training both in home and at CWT is half price for any dog adopted from the Cornelius Animal Shelter
NOTE: A $50 deposit is required at time of reservation for group classes. The balance is due the first night of training. If you cancel your reservation 7 days or less before the start of the class, your deposit will be forfeited.
Group Class Descriptions
Puppy Socialization Classes - For puppies 16 weeks and under
Get your puppy started off on the right paw by joining us for one or more specialty themed puppy socialization classes! In each class we will discuss how to socialize your puppy, how to prevent common puppy problems like jumping, barking and chewing and about how to housetrain your new family member. Of course there will be plenty of time for appropriate puppy play as well!
Join us for one class ($30), two classes ($50) or all 3 classes ($65)
Basic Obedience and manners
Learn how to effectively communicate with your dog what is expected of him through obedience training. We use reward based motivational training to help you bring out the best in your best friend. Class includes practical exercises such as come when called, walk on a loose leash, sit-stay, down-stay, place (boundary-stay), and behavior solutions. For all dogs six months and older
Intermediate Obedience
After creating a solid foundation in Basic Obedience, move on to more complex exercises including off leash obedience and real life scenarios. Prerequisite - Basic obedience & Manners or equivalent. Prerequisite - Basic Obedience or Equivalent

Canine Good Citizen
The CGC is a national standardized test offered by the AKC for purebred and mixed breed dogs that includes obedience for real life applications. It is a two-part program that emphasizes responsible pet ownership for owners and good manners for dogs. Prerequisite - Basic Obedience & Manners or equivalent.
$100 for 4 weeks Call if interested
Agility I- Obstacles
Agility is a fun and exciting way to continue building the bond with your dog while building confidence and drive. Obstacles include the tire, tunnel, jumps, chute, a-frame, dog walk, weaves, teeter, and an introduction to handling skills. This is a great way to give your dog the exercise he truly needs. Prerequisite- Basic Obedience & Manners or equivalent.
$150 for 6 weeks Call if interested
Agility II- Sequencing
Build on the skills you learned in Agility I by teaching your dog to run courses. Prerequisite- Agility I or equivalent.

Agility III- Courses
Take agility to the next level after your dog learns the obstacles and how to sequence. Take on a new and exciting course each week! Prerequisite- Agility II or equivalent.

Board and Train
This is a great way to see fast results and an excellent option for busy professionals. Your dog will stay at Camp Wagging Tails and receive one hour of daily personalized comprehensive obedience training or just an overall tune up during his vacation at CWT. You will also receive a free private lesson upon completion to transition your dog's new skills to you and show you how to maintain training at home. We recommend continued group or private lessons so your dog's skills remain sharp. Your dog will learn all the obedience commands-come, sit-stay, down-stay, heel, and place.
$18/day in addition to the Boarding charge
Training During Day camp
Why not let us use your dog's time at daycare to teach him the obedience commands or hone the skills he already has. Skills taught include come, heel, sit-stay, down-stay, and place ( boundary stay ) Your pooch will receive one on one training in which ever obedience commands you request.
We will work on one or two commands for 30 min of his daycare day. Your dog's progress will depend on the frequency and consistency of his daycare schedule.
$10 per day in addition to the Daycare charge
